The quantity of phone numbers you would need is dependent on the cost per click for each keyword. We would advise assigning 1:1 (meaning 1 phone number to 1 keyword) for ‘expensive’ keywords. Alternatively, review your hourly traffic rate and assign an equivalent quantity of phone numbers. For example, if you are averaging 5 clicks per hour from Google Ads, assign 5 phone numbers dedicated to Google Ads.

What we recommend to our franchise marketing partners is to use a toll-free number in the Header, Body and Footer of web pages, and a local number for each franchisee. The toll-free number acts as a ‘catch-all’ and when it is called it allows the caller to be directed to a local franchisee based upon the caller’s calling area code, or zip code. If the visitor chooses they can always call the local number of the franchisee.
